Jeopardy is in the beginning stages of their Ultimate Tournament of Champions, which will last 15 weeks and feature the greatest players in the show's 21-year history. Ultimately, this will open the door for the return of that Jeopardy juggernaut, Ken Jennings.
So they trot these people out. The 3 of them tonight all have great-sounding lives. In the opening intros we learn one is a school teacher now, the other a practicing attorney in Washington, DC and the third a minister at the same church for over 18 years.
It got me to wondering how everyone else fared...this is 15 weeks, folks. Don't you think at least one of them would warrant an intro like this:
Joe Hankazuski has spent the last 12 years in and out of drug rehab. He hasn't held a job in years due to his know-it-all attitude and constant reminders to all co-workers that he was a champion Jeopardy player. He currently lives off social security in a welfare hotel in downtown Los Angeles. His hobby is fashioning tinfoil helmets to keep out the "radio waves of the people trying to get (him) to shop at Wal-Mart."
It could happen.
