If a picture is worth 1,000 words, here's 3,000...

I've been blathering on (as usual) about all this apartment stuff, so it's time to show you what I've been up to the past six days. Here's three photos from the new pad. I'm pretty much done setting it up. Today I spent a great deal of time hanging art, but I have a couple of size-specific frames coming, so there's a few things left to hang.

Here's the main area, with my original art collection and my one new item. I treated myself to a new TV (that's the Emmy Awards on it, with a scene from Modern Family...I do NOT watch the Bravo show Couple of Gay Fat Guys Sitting on the Couch). It's a 37" LG LED/LCD and I love it. As a female friend once said, "When it comes to boobs and TV sets, nothing can be too big for guys." 37" is about the limit for this size space, I think.

This is looking in the opposite direction towards the kitchen area and the entrance-way. I hate those pale blue cushion covers... believe it or not, they were once pretty much the shade of the couch cover they're sitting on, so their color is not intentional. It's just faded and old, somewhat like me. I intend to replace them soon, but cushion covers are more expensive than buying a whole new cushion, it seems. Who knew?

I hesitate to call this "the bedroom..." it's more like a bedroom nook. Still, it's a nice addition from not having one for the past 10 years, so I've grown fond of it pretty fast. And, amazingly enough, I sleep better up here than I did on the fourth floor. Not having a crazy 20-something neighbor beneath me (geographically, not physically) certainly helps.

Okay...NOW I'm done with this apartment stuff. Seriously.

I likes, I likes. It looks like it might be fun to live alone. I don't really care for it, but I have been doing so for about three years now (Patty's job is in Los Angeles, so we see each other every other week right now).
